Patrick Chamoiseau is a poet, novelist, and essayist whose multifaceted oeuvre, translated worldwide, has won numerous prizes including the Prix Goncourt (1992), the Prix Carbet de la Caraïbe (1993), and the Prix Marguerite Yourcenar (2023).
