Bio
Mary Spanarkel is a Research Assistant at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC. She previously served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Washington English Center, a community-based adult ESL program that serves low-income immigrants. Her professional interests include adult education, curriculum development, and teacher training. She holds an MA in TESOL from American University, and BAs in History and Subject Matter Education from Rowan University. Prior to earning her degree at American University, Mary served as an English Teaching Assistant at Balikesir University through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program from 2011 to 2012.
