Bio
Dr. Paul Cotae received the MS from Applied Mathematics Department at the University of Colorado at Boulder and the PhD in Telecommunications from University “Polytechnica” Bucharest, Romania. He is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and SEAS Research Center Director at the University of the District of Columbia. He spent his sabbatical during AY2015 at Center for High Assurance Computer Systems, Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC. He has been selected as an ONR Senior Research Faculty for the ASEE Summer Faculty Research Program between 2009 and 2016 at NRL. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and he has served on the editorial board of several IEEE journals. He is the Executive Chair for IEEE Globecom 2016 Conference in Washington DC.
Professor Paul Cotae’s research interests have focused on applications of information theory and statistics. Much of his recent research work has focused on detection of slow and low rate of Distributed of Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. His research is funded by NSF, ARO, ONR, AFOSR and USAF. He is the author or coauthor of over 140 publications in many conferences and journals.
