Bio
Professor Surprenant teaches financial accounting and intermediate accounting at the undergraduate level. She has also taught managerial accounting, assurance and auditing services as well as accounting and finance for multinationals. Professor Surprenant comes to AU following four years teaching international accounting in Paris, France. She has industry accounting experience in both the insurance and banking businesses where her responsibilities included the analysis, determination and acceptance of credit risk exposure; acquisition and divestiture analysis; and the management of internal audit examinations. She began her career in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and she is a Certified Public Accountant.
