Develop Your Career through Workday

Employees can sign up for HR development programs, complete required trainings, and explore more than 3,500 LinkedIn Learning courses—all in one place.

On April 1, Workday became the new home for AU faculty, staff, and student employees to expand their career knowledge and build new professional skills.

Workday—AU’s ERP system, which launched in January 2024—has replaced AsuccessfulU as the central hub to access and register for all in-person and virtual learning and professional development courses.

The upgrade means that part-time and full-time employees can sign up for HR development programs like the Supervisor Academy, complete required trainings, and explore more than 3,500 LinkedIn Learning professional development courses all in one place.

“This is going to make professional development and taking courses at AU easier and provide broader, more visible access to learning about things you might be interested in,” said Katherine Simpson, senior director of talent strategies in the Office of Human Resources. “As a learning institution, it’s important that we ensure staff have access to professional development and learning.”

LinkedIn Learning courses include a range of work-related topics like leadership, emotional intelligence, budgeting, and cross-cultural intelligence.

Specific data about ongoing courses has been migrated to Workday but not the entire learning history of individual faculty, staff, and student employees. If you’d like to access your entire learning history on the new platform, contact hrpayrollhelp@american.edu.
