One Card Features

Your AU One Card is more than just your identification. It is used like a credit or debit card for meal plans, purchasing on campus, access to university events, building access, and more.

One Card Features

Please contact One Card & Dining Services at (202) 885- CARD(2273) during business hours or email idcards@american.edu if you experience access problems related to your residence hall.

All other building access requests must be sent to University Police at access@american.edu. Visit University Police JUST ASK Knowledge Articles for further instructions.

Eaglebucks are a convienent, cashless way to make purchases, using the university-issued One Card, both on campus and at many popular off-campus businesses. Eaglebucks can be used on campus for vending machines and laundry services. Like a debit card, funds are deducted when purchases are made.

Your meal plan can only be accessed with your One Card. Visit the meal plan website for more information.

Your One Card serves as your library card for Bender Library, the Washington College of Law Pence Law Library, and all libraries within the Washington Research Library Consortium.

Please log in at Printing.american.edu and click on ‘Summary’ on the left to view your available printing funds. 

Once the University-allocated printing funds have been fully depleted, your Eaglebucks funds will become the default payment for processing print/copy on campus. If you have any further questions regarding printing, please email printing@american.edu

EagleBucks are accepted at most vending machines on the main campus and the Washington College of Law.

All washers and dryers in the residence halls require EagleBucks to operate. You can track laundry room availability under the eSuds tab on the EagleBucks website.

All students, staff, faculty, and alumni must present a valid One Card in order to use the Recreational Sports and Fitness facilities. Visit the Recreational Sports & Fitness to learn more about registration, the fitness facilities, and policies.

The Veterans Lounge is a space that is owned by the Division of Student Affairs and dedicated to serving military-connected students on campus. To request access to the Veterans Lounge, please email veterans@american.edu. Access to the Veterans Lounge will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
