Bio
Anna has been coordinating international education projects for a number of global institutions, universities, and organizations in the United States and abroad. Prior to joining AU, she has coordinated an innovative professional development and leadership program for the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Delaware. Previously, she successfully managed scholarship programs for Kuwaiti graduate students and scholars while also serving on the NAFSA’s Embassy Dialogue Committee (EDC).

She often presents on topics related to higher education initiatives for sponsored students from the Persian Gulf area and public-private partnerships in international education while completing her doctorate degree with a research focus on internationalization policies and practices. Additionally, she frequently leads Washington, DC federalism orientation tours for delegates of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Previously, Anna Tigan worked and volunteered for numerous international education organizations in the United States and Europe. As an EducationUSA Advisor in Ukraine, Anna led initiatives on promoting US-Ukraine exchange programs on a regional level.

She holds an MA in Public Administration from Howard/ The George Washington Universities in addition to an MA in English and German from Horlivka Linguistic University (Ukraine). She is fully proficient in Russian, Ukrainian, German, French, and Italian. She is currently advancing her proficiency in Arabic while also completing her post-candidacy requirements for the doctoral program.
