Bio
Dr. Dave K Jean is a staff clinician at the Well Being Center where he provides individual & group counseling, crisis interventions, outreach, and supervision. Dr. Jean has worked in a number of different clinical settings such as non-profit organizations, university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and correctional facilities. Dr. Jean’s research interests also include multi-culturalism, inter-generational trauma, racial identity, and suicidal ideation. Prior to his position at American University, Dr. Jean completed his post-doctoral fellowship and APA accredited Internship at the University of Rochester. He earned his PhD at the George Washington University and his bachelor's degree from Morehouse College. Clinically, Dr. Jean works from an integrative model grounded in both Humanistic and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies. In his free time, Dave enjoys biking, a variety of science fiction, and friendly games of poker.
