Gabriel Ortiz (J.D., LL.M) is a Human Rights Attorney currently working as a Program Coordinator at the American University Washington College of Law Academy on Human Rights. He coordinates the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition, the Human Rights Essay Award, and different academic panels addressing human rights issues worldwide. Gabriel obtained his J.D. at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello (UCAB) in Caracas, Venezuela, with an outstanding GPA of 17 over 20. He also received his LL.M in Human Rights & International Humanitarian Law from American University Washington College of Law with a remarkable GPA of 3.9 over 4.0. He was designated with the highest grade award in multiple of his classes. Gabriel's previous experience includes an internship at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, legal research at the UCAB Human Rights Center, legal advisor for a Diplomatic Mission before the Organization of American States, and litigation of cases, and Amicus Curiae before the Inter-American Court.
