Robin is influential in driving strong policies, initiatives, and systems that support the university’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and access.
She also serves as an Adjunct Instructor and thought partner across campus to eliminate racial, social, and economic barriers that prevent members of the AU community from thriving.
Prior to joining the Center for Diversity & Inclusion in fall 2018, Robin directed the Center for Community Engagement & Service’s DC Reads program and served as Assistant Director for the center. In that role she piloted several campus-wide initiatives and guided the development of the center signature programs which introduces AU students to the under-served areas in D.C. and beyond.
She has had a long-standing career in both the non-profit, private, and public sector.
Coming from the Department of Commerce in the Bureau of the Census where she served as Partnership Specialist, she developed local and national partnerships and provided grant support to communities in need.
Prior to working for the Commerce Department, Robin worked for the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) where she served as a nationally recognized trainer for the CDF's "Freedom Schools" project. In her time with CDF, Robin trained, supported, and inspired more than 1,500 college students to become advocates for the welfare of children.
Robin has worked on education-awareness programs for For the Love of Children, Sasha Bruce Youthworks, DC Rape Crisis Center, Public Allies, DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and has served as an independent consultant for local, national, and international organizations.
