Quantitative Support:

Quantitative Support provides mathematics and statistics support to undergraduate and graduate students at American University. Tutors will help students learn course concepts, develop study strategies, complete practice exercises, and prepare for exams. Quantitative Support comprises two core services: the Math & Stats Lab and Online Statistical Software Support.

Math & Stats Lab:

Students are welcome to visit the Lab in the Don Myers Building, Room 103 anytime the Lab is open. They do not need an appointment to receive tutoring at the Lab.

Summer 2024 Sessions:

From Monday, May 13, – Thursday, August 15,  tutoring at the Lab will be on the following days and times:

•   Mondays – Thursdays, noon - 1:30 pm, 2:30 - 4 pm

Online Statistical Software Support willl be on the following days and times: 

• Mondays – Thursdays, 1:30 - 2:30 pm, 4 - 5 pm

The Lab focuses on providing tutoring for the following courses:

• MATH-125 to MATH-222
• STAT-160 to STAT-320
• DATA-412

Depending on tutors' availability and skillsets, they might be able to assist undergraduate and graduate students taking higher-level mathematics and statistics courses. Also, tutors might be able to assist students with quantitative concepts in coursework from other departments’ courses.

Statistical Software Support:

Tutors will assist ALL students (undergraduate and graduate) online in a one-on-one setting enrolled in courses using and interpreting results from software such as Excel, Python, R, Stata, SPSS, SQL, SAS, and StatCrunch. Tutoring is held online via WCOnline.

For statistical software support at the graduate or undergraduate level, Online Statistical Software Support is by appointment.
