American University (AU) is excited to announce an innovative partnership with the esteemed Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). This collaboration signifies a significant step forward in advancing academic exchange and global cooperation, with a specific focus on the vibrant fields of chemistry and computer science.

CUHK-Shenzhen was established in 2014 and recruits from the top 0.5-1% of Chinese students. Their world class faculty and strong emphasis on Internationalization and general education provide the foundation for dynamic collaborations. The University is located in the Longgang District of Shenzhen, one of China's most vibrant and rapidly growing cities. Shenzhen is known as a hub for innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, making it an ideal location for academic and research activities.

A Pathway to Excellence: Bridging Continents, Empowering Futures

Through this partnership, undergraduate students in Chemistry and Electrical and Computer Engineering will participate in a full-time non-degree program at AU that serves as a pathway into American University’s Computer Science MS and Chemistry MS.  

Starting in Fall 2025, undergraduate students at CUHK-Shenzhen will have the chance to spend the final year of their bachelor’s degree at American University. During this transformative experience, students will not only immerse themselves in a vibrant academic environment but also earn credit toward their Master of Science degree at American University.
