Unbreathable: The Fight for Healthy Air is directed by award-winning filmmaker and American University School of Communication (AU SOC) professor Maggie Burnette Stogner and is produced by SOC alumnua Elizabeth Herzfeldt-Kamprath. It is Executive Produced by SOC's Center for Environmental Filmmaking with support from the American Lung Association, AU’s Center for Environmental Policy, and the Hanley Foundation.

Maggie StognerMaggie brings 30 years of award-winning filmmaking experience to this project and is the Executive Director of the Center for Environmental Filmmaking at American University. She is founder of Blue Bear Films, an independent production company of documentaries and world-touring museum films http://maggiebluebear.media. She was a producer and Senior Producer of National Geographic’s weekly series “Explorer” for nine years. Her acclaimed indie film about criminal justice “In the Executioner’s Shadow”(2018) is distributed by New Day Films. She is an executive member of WIFV in Washington D.C., a voting member of the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences, and a judge for National Emmy Awards.
