What was the most valuable thing you learned from WeLead?
The most valuable thing I learned in WeLead was the importance of fundraising for a campaign and how to ask for money.

What was your favorite part of the program?
The professional development sessions, where we explored our strengths, weaknesses, biases and natural inclinations – and then figured out how to package that as future female leaders. Shorthand for this work was ‘Develop Your Strengths. Fix Your Fatal Flaws. Ignore the Rest.’

What advice would you give to the current WeLead class?
Keep an open mind and show respect for your colleagues no matter their political party. DC and politics is a small pond. Eventually, you will need help or a favor.

Any other thoughts on your WeLead experience?
WeLead is a great foundation for women who want to be in politics. No one gives us a road map, but WeLead helps us get there and builds a community of other very supportive women.
