INTERN HOUSING OVERVIEW

American University is situated in the northwest area of Washington, DC- one of DC's safest and most beautiful residential areas. The AU campus is just a short ride from the city's most famous sites by bus, Metro, or car. Our free shuttle service connects the university to Washington's Metro Red Line at the Tenleytown-AU station, which is located just three-quarters of a mile from campus.

Those staying in Nebraska Hall will share their apartment with up to three roommates. All apartment roommates will be the same gender; the individual creating their booking should select the gender they identify with to ensure they room with their gender: male, female, nonbinary. While we try to accommodate specific roommate requests, rooms and apartment are on a first-come-first-serve basis and we will continue to adhere to our same-gender policy.

Please note that, per the Housing Licence Agreement signed at the time of booking, guests are not permitted in the residence halls. Violation of this policy may result in the termination of your stay.
