Quick Facts for Prospective GJC Applicants:
- GJC students receive seven credits per semester - three for the seminar and four for fieldwork/casework.
- All clinic credits are “contact” credits, which means they are not subject to the limit on “non-contact” credits applicable to things like externship field placements.
- GJC is a one semester clinic.
- GJC is open to full-time 2L, 3L and 4L JD candidates.
- Evidence is a recommended course but is not required.
- GJC has a mandatory orientation, usually the Thursday/Friday or the Friday/Saturday before the first Monday of classes.
- The application submission process is the same for all clinics – see Applying to Clinic.
- GJC selects by lottery, starting with applicants who list GJC as their first choice. However, graduating students receive preference throughout all clinics to attempt to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in a clinic.
- We encourage you to list multiple clinics on the application. The application requires that you rank your choices but there is also a text box if you want to provide more details.
- Feel free to e-mail us if you have questions.
