Bio

Professor Destiny Fullwood-Singh is Policy Counsel at DC Justice Lab (DCJL), a team of law and policy experts researching, organizing, and advocating for large-scale changes to the District of Columbia's criminal legal system by developing smarter safety solutions that are evidence-driven, community-rooted, and racially just. At DCJL, Professor Fullwood-Singh focuses on issues related to prosecution within the District and assists directors with identifying policy solutions and executing policy campaigns to ensure that these solutions evolve from ideas to reality.



Prior to joining DCJL, Professor Fullwood-Singh was the Co-Executive Director of the Second Look Project, a DC-based criminal legal services nonprofit that advocates for those given extreme sentences in their youth.  Professor Fullwood-Singh Destiny began her career as an assistant public defender in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she defended the rights of children and adults accused of crimes.
