Bio

Melanie was born and raised in Dallas, TX.  She received her B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2002 and her JD from the University of Baltimore in 2006.  She is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia.



Melanie focuses primarily in the areas of real estate, mortgage litigation, foreclosure defense and mediation, condominium and homeowner's associations,  family law, landlord and tenant, consumer protection, civil mediation and civil litigation.



Melanie was actively involved in Maryland Foreclosure Prevention Pro Bono Project since its inception in 2008 and served as a Mentor Attorney at the Foreclosure Solutions Workshops around the State. She serves as Of Counsel to housing counseling agencies for Southern Maryland counties, Montgomery County, and Eastern Shore counties and for the District of Columbia.  Melanie has also testified as an expert in foreclosure litigation.



Melanie also volunteers for organizations that support our active-duty servicemembers.  She is a graduate of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy (Class of 2012).



Awards: 2009 Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service "Volunteer of the Year", 2014 Civil Justice, Inc. "Member of the Year", 2015 Pro Bono Resource Center "Service Honoree".
