Bio

Rachel serves as an academic advisor to WCL’s JD students as part of the Office of Academic Excellence. She provides academic planning advice and guidance and coordinates the Compass program, designed to orient 1L students to WCL. She also organizes programs and resources to assist all law students during their time at WCL. Along with her administrative duties, Rachel teaches legal research and writing to non-common law trained LL.M. students during the academic year and is an instructor in WCL’s Legal English Program.



Prior to joining OAE, Rachel was the Assistant Director of WCL Abroad where she managed WCL’s international dual degree, semester exchange, and summer abroad programs and supported international initiatives. In her previous work with WCL’s Office of Global Opportunities, Rachel managed the International Visiting Scholars and Washington Seminar Programs for international visitors and the Global Legal Skills Initiative to help JD students navigate law school with the goal of practicing law in a global and/or international setting. She previously served on the Board of Governors of the Washington Foreign Law Society where she was the Co-Chair of Programs during the 2016-17 term. In 2017, Rachel was selected as one of fifteen American higher education professionals to participate in the Fulbright International Education Administrators Seminar in Germany. Rachel has a JD from American University Washington College of Law, a BS from Cornell University, and a graduate certificate in TESOL from American University. Rachel is a member of the State Bar of Maryland.
