Program Activities at Academy

So that Participants get the full benefit of the Program the Academy has organized the following events. All participants are encouraged to join these events as these are designed to complement the courses.

Orientation Session

The 2024 Advanced Studies Program on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law welcomes you. The mandatory orientation will be on May 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the law school. An access card will be provided for entry to all facilities throughout the three-week program. Class schedules and rooms can be found on Canvas. Attendance at 90% of classes is mandatory to receive a certificate. Exams will take place from July 2 to 23, with an essay option available as an alternative. Additionally, all classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, although it is recommended to bring a jacket due to the uniform temperature in all classrooms.

Summer faculty Dinner 

The Academy has scheduled a special dinner for faculty members and LL.M students participating in the summer program on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Lounge (Room Y112). Your prompt confirmation of attendance is requested to facilitate event planning. Please inform us of any dietary preferences or allergies to accommodate your needs effectively.

Exam period

Exam period

July 2th to July 23nd

The exam period will be from July 2th to July 23nd, with a reading period from June 21th to July 1th. Each exam has a 48-hour deadline and will be graded out of 100 points, with a deduction of 10 points for late submissions. Professors may choose essays as an alternative to exams, to be completed within the designated three weeks.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony marks not just the end of the Twenty-fifth Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, but also serves as a platform to acknowledge the dedication and effort of participants and faculty alike. It is also a moment to foster new collaborations aimed at advancing human rights. For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed via Zoom, offering an opportunity for remote participation. We look forward to your presence and participation in this meaningful event.
