On October 3, the Academy organized the event ‘ Statelessness from a Gender Lens,’ featuring Deepti Gurung, co-founder and executive director of the Citizenship Affected People’s Network (CAPN); Catherine Harrington, manager of the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights; and Neha Gurung, co-founder of CAPN, AUWCL LLM candidate, and Fulbright Scholar. The discussion shed light on the deep-rooted gender inequalities that fuel human rights violations globally. Deepti and Neha shared their personal experiences with Statelessness and unequal nationality laws in Nepal. Catherine shared her invaluable insights into the resources available and the global efforts needed to address these issues.
