Professor Farley Quoted in New York Times Story on Apple's Frequent Trademark Oppositions
PIJIP Professor Christine Haight Farley was quoted in a recent New York Times story about Apple's filing of oppositions to trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Apple has recently opposed 215 applications, far more than Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook or Google. Many of the opposed trademark applications involved images of apples and other fruits.
Prof. Farley stated that the scale of the company’s campaign amounts to “bullying tactics, and they are unnecessary for Apple to protect the public from confusion."
