Rebecca Hamilton, Professor Rebecca Hamilton is a Professor of Law at American University, Washington College of Law, teaching international law, national security law, and criminal law. She was a 2024 U.S. Fulbright Scholar, and a Fall 2023 Visiting Professor of Law at UCLA Law. She is an Executive Editor at Just Security, and is an internationally recognized expert on atrocity prevention. Her scholarship focuses on the structural factors underlying international crimes, including the role of new technologies and the impact of climate change. Her work draws on her experience in the prosecution of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, as well as her work in conflict zones as a foreign correspondent.
