Ganeswar Matcha, a graduate of American University Washington College of Law’s LLM program, has announced the establishment of a fund to support the school’s Trade Law Program. The fund, Sacha Group Trade Law Fund was inspired by Matcha’s positive experience at AUWCL, where he was mentored by renowned professors and gained valuable networking opportunities.

“My time at AUWCL profoundly shaped my values and perspectives on giving back,” Matcha said. “The inspiring community of students and faculty dedicated to serving the legal profession instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to contribute positively to the legal community.”

Matcha chose to support the Trade Law Program because of its focus on global connections and economic development. He believes that trade is a crucial mechanism for fostering positive change and is eager to contribute to the program’s success.

Reflecting on his time at AUWCL, Matcha recalled late-night study sessions with friends as particularly memorable. “These late nights weren’t just about cramming for tests; they were moments of camaraderie and shared determination to excel in our studies,” he said.

His advice to current students and recent graduates is to stay resilient, adaptable, and passionate in their pursuit of goals. He encourages them to leverage their education and skills to create opportunities that align with their aspirations.

For those interested in supporting the Trade Law Program, consider donating to the Sacha Group Trade Law Fund. This fund will directly support increasing the programmatic offerings of WCL’s Trade Law program.
