Subject:
Road Closures and New Traffic Pattern

As part of American University’s continuing efforts to ensure that infrastructure throughout the campus meets the highest levels of quality and safety standards, work on the north side of campus for the Low Temperature Hot Water project will begin Monday, January 21. As we dig trenches in many of our roads and walkways, we will need to close different sections of roads for periods of time.

Starting Monday, the road between the main campus road and Cassell Hall will be closed for vehicular traffic through April 15. However, a pathway will be available for pedestrian traffic. The driveway to the President’s Office building also will remain accessible.

Cassell, Leonard, and McDowell Halls will be accessible from the road between Asbury and the Sports Center and then around the Sports Center Annex.

We will send an update after the completion of this phase to announce the next traffic pattern with associated dates. A map of the current work with estimated dates of completion can be found on the Construction website.
