Dear AU Community,

In September, we shared that the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers project is in its final phase. As we continue to monitor the project, we wanted to share a project update with the community.

While anticipating the possibility of noise and increased truck traffic in the Fletcher Gate area, we are now aware that the project requires a crane to accomplish the work. This morning, an oversized vehicle will carry the crane to the site, and access to Fletcher Gate will be temporarily restricted. We ask for your cooperation by following the direction of flag-persons for the brief interruption period while the crane is put in place. 

Following the crane’s placement, supports will be placed into the ground. We have been informed that this will result in higher levels of noise, which will be closely monitored by our team. This work will be for a limited time and work is expected to be completed on this step of the project by December 8, 2023.
