Dear Info-Metrics Colleagues,

It is with deep personal sadness that I write to tell you about the death of Ramo (Ramazan) Gencay. Ramo died (found dead) while visiting Columbia. Ramo was a true friend and colleague and a very active and contributing member of our Institute. Ramo’s scientific contributions, especially in financial econometrics, finance and developing new tools for understanding financial data, are too many to mention here. He was a most kind and generous person. I will miss him very much.
